Mental Health Therapist

At StableStrides our mission is to significantly improve lives through a connection with horses. We have a growing horse-centered mental health program and seek to find a compassionate and dedicated LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist who values individualized care and wants to build a caseload at a sustainable pace.

We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.

Our goal is to create meaningful, sustainable careers for mental health professionals in a growing and highly sought-after specialty. You do not need any horse or Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) experience to apply to this role – all horse related training and mentorship you need will be provided to you. However, you do need to hold an active and unrestricted license as a mental health clinician (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist) in the state of Colorado.

At this time, we are not hiring provisionally licensed clinicians or those who require supervision.

We are hiring for 1099 (flexible hours/contractor) and/or W2 (part-time, with the possibility of building to full time) roles. We typically recommend starting with a 1099 (independent contractor) arrangement. Once you’ve seen at least 20 clients and are familiar with the Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy model and our processes, we will consider transitioning to W-2 (employee) status. That transition generally takes place within 6-12 months, assuming everything progresses smoothly.

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality mental health services to a diverse clientele, including individuals and groups from various backgrounds and ages. This role involves screening prospective clients, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions in individual and group settings. Additionally, a willingness to supervise interns is preferred. The clinician will work collaboratively with an equine specialist to ensure safe and effective care for clients.

This position provides admin support—we manage your schedule as clients call in (and support you in marketing to fill your schedule), handling paperwork and billing, and, in the future, your insurance credentialing —allowing you to dedicate your efforts to what you excel at: providing therapeutic care to clients.
