Empower. Collaborate. Inspire.

Since 1981, we have partnered with the horse to provide the highest quality physical, emotional, behavioral, and psychological health and wellness services in Southern Colorado.

Our Mission

To significantly improve lives through a connection with horses.

Our Vision

To be the first place Southern Colorado turns to for wellness, connection, and healing through horses.

Who We Are

A woman named Gay O’Rourke founded Acts 19:11, now know as StableStrides, because of a community need for alternative therapy options. Since the beginning, StableStrides has harnessed the irreplaceable bond between horse and human to deliver transformative physical, emotional, behavioral, and psychological health and wellness services across Southern Colorado. As the oldest, largest, and one of only two PATH International Premier Accredited equine-assisted therapy centers in the region, we serve children as young as two, veterans navigating life after service, teens finding their footing, adults reclaiming independence, and everyone in between.

We serve an average of 120 clients per week, with the help of 20 plus horses and over 200 volunteers.

“I believe in StableStrides and the incredibly valuable service you all provide to all the families that come through the facility doors. I’ve seen the kid’s faces light up with joy and seen the new confidence and strength, that they grow when they are on horseback. I know that this therapy manifests into a better quality of life, both at and away from the stables, for the riders and their families.”
